Report Absence

If your child is ill and cannot attend School, the absence must be explained by the child's parent or guardian. There are four ways that this can be done: 

  1. In person to the School Office or teacher if bringing another child to School  
  2. By telephone message 
  3. Brief note of explanation when your child returns to School 
  4. By using this link to email the school: sec.westbank@halton-borough.gov.uk 

If using the link above to email an absence to the school, type the word "Absence" in the subject line. In the box below please give the following information:

  • The child's name 
  •  Your name and relationship to the child 
  •  The date of absence 
  •  The child's class 
  •  The reason for their absence 

It is important that this is done so that any absences can be authorised. Last year attendance was 94.5% and the national average was 94.6%. Unsatisfactory attendance will be supported by a Local Authority funded team, who will contact parents of children with attendance below 90%.
